Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 September 2026
Pernox Games is a game studio operated by Mware BV (Scheibeekstraat 20, 2020 Antwerp, Belgium — company number BE 1001.267.058), which is the data controller for the purposes of this policy. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect when you visit pernox.games (the "Site") or play our games, such as Shayp (together, the "Services").
The short version: you never give us your name, e-mail or password. If you join a leaderboard, we store a username you pick yourself, the country you pick yourself, your scores, and a random identifier for your device. That is all, and you can have it deleted by sending one e-mail.
1. What we collect, and when
On your device only
Your coins, cosmetic choices, button order, sound and vibration settings, and your personal top-10 scores are stored in a file on your device. They are never sent anywhere. Uninstalling the app deletes them.
Reminder notifications are scheduled by your phone's own operating system. No score, name or time is sent to us for them.
If you join the online leaderboard
The leaderboard is optional. You are asked once, when you first open the game, and you can skip it. If you play a scoring run without having chosen a username, the game registers you with a name it generates (for example "SwiftFalcon412"), so that you appear on the board. From that moment we hold:
- A random device identifier. Generated by the app itself the first time it runs. It is not your phone's hardware ID, your advertising ID, or anything Apple or Google gives us — it exists only to recognise the same installation on later launches.
- A server token tied to that identifier, used to authorise your own score submissions.
- Your username — the one you chose, or the one we generated for you.
- Your friend code, a six-character code you can share so other players can add you.
- Your country, as you selected it, or as suggested by your device's region setting. This is a country, not a location: we do not use GPS and we do not store your IP address.
- Your scores, the game mode, when you set them, and how long the run lasted.
- Technical details sent once at registration: platform (iOS or Android), app version, and language. We use these to tell which build a problem comes from.
- Friend links, if you redeem someone's friend code: the fact that two players are on each other's friends list.
We do not ask for an account, an e-mail address, a password, a phone number, or your real name. We never store your IP address or precise location.
Advertising
Our games show ads through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google and its partners may use your device's advertising identifier (Apple's IDFA or Google's Advertising ID) and usage data. We do not receive that identifier ourselves and we never store it.
Purchases
In-app purchases are handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We are told that a purchase succeeded so we can unlock what you bought; we never see or store card numbers or payment details.
If you e-mail us
We receive your e-mail address and whatever you write. We keep it only as long as needed to answer you.
2. Why we may use it (legal bases)
- Running the leaderboard — performance of the service you asked for. Without a username and a device identifier there is no way to show you a ranked list that includes you.
- Keeping scores honest — our legitimate interest in a leaderboard that is not filled with impossible scores.
- Technical diagnostics (platform, app version, language) — our legitimate interest in knowing which build a bug affects.
- Personalised advertising — your consent, where the law requires it (see section 4).
- Purchases — performance of a contract, and our legal obligation to keep records of sales.
3. Who else is involved
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
- Supabase hosts the leaderboard database and the functions that write to it, as our processor. Leaderboard data is stored in the European Union (Ireland, eu-west-1).
- Google AdMob serves advertising. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
- Apple and Google process purchases and distribute the app, under their own policies.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our players, or the security of the Services.
4. Your advertising choices
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the game shows a consent form the first time it runs, before any ad is requested. Decline personalised ads and you still see ads, just untargeted ones. You can reopen that choice at any time in the game under Settings → Ad privacy.
On iOS, where App Tracking Transparency applies, you are asked separately before your advertising identifier may be used for tracking across apps. You can change that answer under Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
You can reset your advertising identifier, or turn off ad personalisation entirely, in your device settings. Buying the ad-free upgrade removes banner and full-screen ads from the game.
5. Deleting your data
Everything on your device goes away when you uninstall the app.
Full instructions are on Delete your data. In short: e-mail hello@pernox.games with your friend code — you will find it in the game under High Scores → Friends. We use the code to identify the right record without needing anything else from you. Deleting it removes your username, country, friend code, device identifier, scores and friend links. We aim to do this within 30 days.
6. How long we keep things
- Your leaderboard profile and best scores: until you ask us to delete them, or until the game is retired.
- Individual score submissions (used to spot impossible scores): 12 months.
- Run tokens (short-lived, issued when a run starts): 7 days.
- Support e-mail: as long as needed to handle your question.
7. Security
All traffic between the game and our servers runs over HTTPS. The database is not directly reachable by the app: it can only be read and written through a small set of functions that enforce what a player is allowed to do. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, though no method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure.
8. Children
Our Services are not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, e-mail hello@pernox.games and we will delete it.
Usernames are screened against a word filter and must be unique. If you spot a name that should not be there, tell us and we will change it.
9. Your rights
Under the EU/UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your personal data, and to receive it in a portable form. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Residents of California and other regions with similar laws have comparable rights, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.
To exercise any of these, e-mail hello@pernox.games. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority — in Belgium, the Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.
10. International transfers
Leaderboard data stays in the European Union. Our advertising and app-store partners, however, are established outside the European Economic Area and may process data in other countries, including the United States. Where that happens, those transfers rely on the safeguards those providers put in place, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, the "Last updated" date above changes, and significant changes will be pointed out in the game or on this Site.
